Soon, they came to the candy aisle and the little boy began to shout for candy. When told he couldn’t have any, he began to cry. The father Sardarji said, “There, there, Jasbeer, don’t cry – only two more aisles to go and then we’ll be checking out.”
When they got to the checkout stand, the little boy immediately began to clamor for gum and burst into a terrible tantrum upon discovering there’d be no gum purchased. The father Sardar said serenely, “Jasbeer, we’ll be through this check out stand in 5 minutes and then you can go home and have a nice nap.”
Santa Singh was watching all this and got very impressed. He had never seen another Sardar with so much patience. So he followed them out to the parking lot and stopped the father Sardarji to compliment him. “That was amazing. I couldn’t help noticing how patient you were with little Jasbeer,” he began. The father Sardar replied, “I’m Jasbeer – my little boy’s name is Bablu Singh.”
